Yogesh (Yogi) Bali is challenging the status quo of business and what it means to be an entrepreneur in this post-pandemic world.
He founded NoWa after experiencing plastic pollution firsthand when a toothpaste cap washed up at his feet whilst playing with his son at the beach. After searching, as a consumer, for an eco alternative, he identified a gap in the sustainable products market.
He noticed that as a consumer he was having to make a compromise on quality, price or service in order to do the right thing and choose eco. After reaching out to several large companies and not getting anywhere he decided to put his money where his mouth is and create a product that ticked all the boxes.
He created a completely plastic-free, cruelty-free, high-quality oral care range that now operates across the UK, Europe, and the USA.
Having held previous roles in corporate finance, Yogi wants NoWa to be more than a business. He wants to show that a business should go beyond simply making a maximum profit at any cost. He wants to prove that a business can be profitable whilst ensuring that there is minimal impact on the environment, people, or animals and that a business should be a vehicle for social embetterment. To this end, NoWa donates up to 50% of its profit to charities and social causes.
Yogi has the vision to live on a planet that is sustainable, where companies do not put profit before the planet, people, or animals.
