DaBaby has been receiving so much hatred ever since his inappropriate homophobic comments. It happened in Miami when he was attending the Rolling Loud 2021 festival in the last week of July 2021. Meanwhile, Hannah Montana has reached out to the singer to try to educate him.
DaBaby has been receiving huge backlash over his comments. Not only his fans but also other celebs have shown their disgust about the same. They have shared that they would be unfollowing the American rapper.
Unlike the netizens, Miley Cyrus has extended a helping hand to rapper DaBaby. She has DM’ed the rapper to contact her so she can empower him on AIDS and LGBTQ community. She has also urged people not to cancel DaBaby over his homophobic rant.
In her recent post, Cyrus wrote – ” As a loyal and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have dedicated much of my life to encourage, love, open-mindedness, and acceptance.” She also shared that often the internet fuels a lot of anger and hate. But she wants to turn it into a place filled with communication, education, and connection.
Madonna, John Elton, and Dua Lipa already shared their disappointment through various mediums. Following his rant, DaBaby was also removed from the lineups of Day N Vegas, Governor’s Ball, and Lollapalooza. He lost six festival line-ups altogether.
But, Cyrus tagged him on Instagram and captioned – “Check your DMs- would love to converse and see how we can help to make a more understanding future.”
So, what did the Blame It On Baby say that made so many headlines? He created all the chaos after making fun of the HIV and AIDS sufferers. ” If you didn’t show up today with AIDS, HIV, or any other deadly sexually transmitted diseases, you’ll die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up.” He said it aloud to the Florida crowd at the Rolling Loud festival. “Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d*** in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up. Ladies, if your p**** smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up.”
Clearly, all these remarks didn’t sit well. His hateful words towards gay men and AIDS/HIV sufferers made a huge controversy. However, the famous rapper came up with more than one apology on his Instagram feed.
” I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for my triggering comments. Social media moves so fast and people want to demolish you even before you have the opportunity to learn and grow from your mistakes. I appreciate them who reached out to me privately to offer kindness, wisdom, resources, and resources. That’s what I needed.”
But many netizens didn’t buy DaBaby’s apologies as they thought it was fake. They also think Miley can’t forgive him on the behalf of LGBTQ community when he is not really sorry. Some people from the community think that despite being a member of the same, she can’t use her support and platform to support a voice like DaBaby.
