Things We Never Knew About Matt LeBlanc

When it’s Matt LeBlanc, it’s almost impossible not to think of Joey Tribbiani from “Friends”. After all, this sitcom was a huge break in his acting career and it made him a household name across the world. But besides this classic TV show, LeBlanc’s career has been full of various other remarkable projects too.

Some Regular Facts About His Early Career

You might know this. Matt started his acting career through TV commercials. His first silver screen appearance was a Heinz Ketchup ad in 1987. You can still watch it on YouTube. From there he appeared in lots of ads like Levi’s, Coca-Cola, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Comedy Central, and Fruitful Bran. Probably, such a wide variety of food-related ads are the reason behind the epic dialogue that “Joey doesn’t share food“.

The Handsome Hunk Of 90’s Sitcoms

Before appearing on F.R.I.E.N.D.S in 1994, which aired till 2004, LeBlanc acted in a few television shows, solidifying his place within the sitcom genre. For instance, in 1991, he appeared in a recurring role of  Vinnie Verducci on “Married…with Children”. The huge success of this show landed him his next guest role in the first season of “Red Show Diaries.” Over the next few years, he did other shows like “Rebel Highway.”  In 1988, he played the role of Chuck Bender on “TV 101”.

Eventually, his semi-regular sitcom appearances came to an end, and our favorite “Tribbiani”  started to appear in lots of music videos. For instance, he appeared in Bon Jovi music videos like “Say It Isn’t So” and “Miracle”  as well as Alanis Morissette’s “Walk Away”, Tom Petty “Into The Great Wide Open”.

In 1994, he got the offer to play Joey Tribbiani in “Friends” which became a career-changing role in his life.  The hilarious, and very popular sitcom ran for ten seasons. LeBlanc became 90s funny man with a handful of awards including a Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globe nominations, three consecutive Emmy nominations.

because of  making Joey Tribbiany the most lovable and desirable character, LeBlanc ended up  as the lead of “Friends” spin-off called “Joey.”  The spin-off followed Tribbiani‘s life as the character moved to Los Angeles to upgrade his acting career.  The spin-off gathered huge ranking because of the hype but the viewers, however, soon sputtered off and the show went off the air after only one and a half seasons.

After The Spin-Off Show Ended, LeBlanc Were Accused Of False Claims

The show “Joey” didn’t do good for LeBlanc, but after it ended, some rumours about his mental health started to circulate and it raised eyebrows about his career.

The Mirror, an United Kingdom Publication published an article about an interview with LeBlanc. Apparently, he told that he ”almost had a nervous breakdown.” The article also reported that he didn’t leave his house for several years after the spin-off’s failure. The article reported that LeBlanc called those years to be “a very dark time”  in his life.

However, LeBlanc tweeted that none of these was true. He never interviewed for the Mirror, UK. Plus, he didn’t have a nervous breakdown after “Joey”.
